I’m a creative. Here's what I’ve made or am working on.

From writing, to producing, to acting, to journalism - I focus on my love of storytelling and visual design.

I write books:

My first published book and children’s picture book is Journey of the Freckled Indian: A Tlingit Culture Story.

I self-published it in 2020 through my company’s brand and imprint, Culture Story.

My next two children’s picture book are under contract with a publisher, Bloomsbury Children’s Books

My first non-fiction book is with Harper Collins Celebrate and it is part memoir and part what I want people to know about Indigenous culture today.

I produce and host content:

Also known as journalism, on-camera content delivery, and content creation.

I started creating videos through Culture Story in 2018. Later that combined with the messaging of my Miss Alaska USA platform being about - showcasing the present day vitality and relevance of Native culture today- led to pitching and producing segments for NBC News and about Indian Country and hosting a special for MSNBC called The Culture Is: Indigenous Women.

Original Culture Story content is on the brand’s YouTube.

Segments I produced and hosted for NBC News

This was the first ‘Culture Story’ and it is still my favorite.

I act and model:

I really enjoy acting and bringing a character to life. I enjoy lifting the writing off the page and creating a world for the characters with my scene partners.

Getting to be the title character and lead of the Indie film ‘For Sky with Love’ was a dream come true.

Modeling and commercial acting is a blast because of the collaboration to create imagery that makes the products and brand shine.

While a small part- getting to be on set and act with iconic soap opera actors on ‘Young and the Restless’ was also a dream come true.

I make art:

Granted writing books, producing content, acting and modeling are also art forms, but I mean art in the sense of I create objects and visuals through textiles, wood, copper and an expanding set of mediums like drawing and acrylic painting.

I am a creative entrepreneur:

From Culture Dolls, to Culture Boxes, to Culture Stories, to ‘The Journey of the Freckled Indian: A Tlingit Culture Story’ book…

To pitching the Culture Dolls concept to Shark Tank producers and getting 2nd in the pitch competition….

my creations tend to lend themselves to a new products and ventures.
